"People don't need labels."

We hear it all the time. However...I'm starting to differ my opinion on that. I would say:

People need POSITIVE labels.

People need UPLIFTING labels.

People need ENCOURAGING labels.

There have been all kinds of studies done on people labeling others with stereotypes, etc. Here's what starts to happen:

They start owning those labels and becoming those labels. Positive or negative.

So what if we started to give people better labels? What if we started reminding people who they belong to, AND THAT THEY BELONG? What if we started telling people the family they can be a part of, the family that's waiting for them? That they have a FATHER who won't leave them, who is longing for them and wants to love them?

What if those labels were that people were created by God, that Jesus came to die for them, and that they are loved and cared for by their Creator? What power does that label hold?

Things start to change in hearts, minds, souls. Its life-changing power that only Jesus can do, but we get to be used by Him in the process! We get to be the hands, feet, and voices to share that! To give people the only labels that matter because God's opinion is the only one that matters. So let's tell people why they matter, and who they matter to--because it's WILD, but it's also TRUE.
