Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.—Hebrews 12:1-2
Friends and Fam,
I’m currently $4,600 away from being fully funded for the World Race. A donor JUST contacted me and they are willing to match a total of $500!!! Once I have a total of $500 in donations, an additional $500 will be made.
I KNOW I’M CALLED. I KNOW GOD WILL PROVIDE.
He hasn’t stopped yet.
Here’s a recap of what God has used me to do so far on the Race:
MONTH ONE-My team was in Tacloban, on the island of Leyte in the Philippines. We got to go out into communities and feed the hungry. We got to help in a building that will be used as a school. We got to disciple high school girls, tell them they’re beautiful and perfectly made in God’s image. We got to spread joy and hope of Jesus throughout a city that had been hit by a typhoon five years ago.
MONTH TWO-Ohana (my squad) was all together for all squad month in Chiang Mai, Thailand. My team got to go to the red light district and love on women who work in the bars. I met a guy who begs and Jesus used me to provide him with a bible. His eyesight wasn’t very good and Jesus healed him when a squadmate and I prayed for him. I met an American named Jordan who is now one of my best friends and encourage her in her faith. She’s now encouraging me and is such a reminder of God’s faithfulness.
MONTH THREE-My team was paired with another team in Penang, Malaysia. We got to make Christmas cards for the homeless, serve the homeless, and be in a flash mob. God used me specifically there to do some graphic design work for a discipleship training school. It was my first Christmas away from home, but somehow felt right at home with my squadmates.
MONTH FOUR-My team was paired with another team from our squad, doing ministry in the Malealea Valley in Lesotho, Africa. We hiked the mountains to share the gospel and encouragement to our neighbors, and helped them get water or whatever other chores they needed help with. This has been the simplest, but most eye opening ministry for me in my time on the Race. We got to give bibles out to houses this week who we had previously shared with in our first and second weeks, and they were such sweet moments. Many of these families had never owned a Bible. They always say their hearts feel lifted when we are leaving. God is using us to speak Truth into this valley, to spread His hope and help and healing.
Please consider donating today (OR MATCH A DONATION AMOUNT) to keep me on the field, being the hands and feet of Jesus. I know that God has called me to this, and that the Race is far from over, because everything I’ve learned so far is just the tip of the iceberg of how God will use me upon returning to the States.
TWO WEEKS UNTIL MY FINAL DEADLINE. I KNOW HE IS ABLE.
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.—Ephesians 3:20-21
